HIKMICRO Raptor RQ50LN product image

The RAPTOR RQ50LN is a thermal bi-ocular made by HIKMICRO and is part of the Raptor series.

The Raptor RQ50LN spots a crisp 50mm f/0.9 objective lens collecting thermal radiation. The default field of view on this thermal bi-ocular is 8.8 by 7 degrees. It has a 16 times digital zoom to enlarge (parts of) the image. The eye relief distance is measured at 15mm.

Behind the lens of the Raptor RQ50LN you can find the (uncooled, 12 micrometer) 640 x 512 pixels core refreshing the image at 25Hz. The thermal contrast (NETD) of this thermal bi-ocular is <20mK.

The physical dimensions of this thermal bi-ocular read 217.5 x 155 x 87.5mm (lwh) and the scale reads 1120 grams. This device is rated IP67. It handles dust, shocks, water (splashes) and submersion under water. It's rated for operating in temperatures between -30°C and 55°C.

The Raptor RQ50LN can be used in scanning and surveillance, hunting adventures, police operations and search and rescue.

DRI Ranges

DRI stands for Detection, Recognition and Identification and is based on the widely used Johnson's criteria.

  • Detection Detect if an object is present
  • Recognition See what type of object it is (i.e. person, vehicle, airplane)
  • Identification For example see if someone is a friend or foe
Detection Recognition Identification
Rabbit 750 meters 187 meters 93 meters
Person 2638 meters 659 meters 329 meters
Vehicle 6388 meters 1597 meters 798 meters

Please note that these values are calculated, always consult the manufacturer for official range numbers.
